I got home from Market last night at 8:00 p.m., one tired puppy. I had to check my carryon bag because it was so heavy with all of the “stuff” that I dragged home. I have swag to share!
During the Schoolhouse breakout session on Thursday, fabric companies were very generous in handing out totebags made with the latest and greatest lines. Here are three that I’m sending out into the world to live with you.
The beautiful brown one is from Jo Morton‘s newest fabric collection with Andover, Alexandria.
The black one is from Jane Dixon‘s line City Scenes, also with Andover.
The blue floral bag was gifted by Amy Butler, whose fabrics are with Westminster. Amy told us that a friend of hers makes thousands of these bags and gives them away, asking only that they be used as shopping bags instead of accepting a bag from a merchant.
I ask the same of the winners of these bags. Keep them in your car and the next time you purchase something, skip the shop bag and use this one. It’s a great habit to get into.
If you’d like to win one of these, please leave a comment here on this post by 7:00 pm. on Wednesday, May 23.
The fine print: Open to U.S. and Canada mailing addresses only. Don’t reply to your email feed; instead, click over to the blog itself and leave your comment at the bottom of the post.
More to come from Market, including an astonishing aspect of this huge trade show.
Until then,
Kay

I love the bags. I would love to take one and use it at the APQ quilt show in Columbus, Ohio this June. I’m very green when it comes to shopping bags. I use cloth bags to do my grocery shopping. And if I still get a plastic bag I can recycle it at our local grocery store.
Well! Wouldn’t all heads turn if I walk into our local grocery store toting one of these, oh yeah!!! I’d be doing the ‘green’ thing and everyone else would be green with envy!! hehehe! Thanks for the chance!!
Oh! I would love to win a bag. We use them all the time for shopping. I have a variety in he back of my car. I also use them for library books, taking items back and forth to work and packages to the post office.
I’d love to win one of those! I love using them! Thanks!
Oooo! Very pretty bags. Here in Montgomery County, Maryland, we have been bringing our own shopping bags to the stores otherwise, it’s a $.05 fee for plastic/paper bag. I would love to use one of your giveaway bags.
I would love to have a bag. Going green has never been so appealing. Thanks!
I would be thrilled to have such a lovely looking shopping bag. I’d do away with the several not-so-pretty bags I’ve been given by stores.
Pretty bags make others want to go green.
thanks for the lovely giveaway; I hope I’m lucky.
Such cute bags! I have several I leave in the car for shopping and try to gather all my purchases in them during my trips. Could use one for keeping my sewing stuff together in the car, though! Thanks for the chance to win!
I would love to win one of the bags. I always use the re-useable bags if I can.
Thank you for sharing – would love to be one of the lucky ones to win a bag! Thank you!!
Great bags. I live 100 miles form KC. Thought about all the lucky quilters this past weekend. Glad you had a good trip!
I do have reusable bags I use for groceries but never thought about using one for other purchases. Great idea! I love the blue floral/Amy Butler one the best.
Oooo, Kay, the bags are great!! That would be a treat to carry one of those shopping! Thank you for the opportunity!
That is a good idea, wish they would go back to paper, I liked using them for other things. I can’t wait to see your photos and news of the show.
Debbie
ooooh, that Amy Butler bag is calling my name. What’s that you say my beauty? You want to come home with me? Oh I hope so.
Oh, these are truly fabulous! All my quilting friends will be soooo jealous if I win one!
Beautiful bags! We use the reusables, and another would be very welcome. Thanks.
What cute bags!!! I’d just love to win one of them :*)
Love the bags! I always use cloth bags at the grocery and even have one that fits in my purse for other purchases ( like fabric!)
I’d love to win one of these. Please include me in the drawing.
Love the bags. It’s a wonderful way to advetise. Here’s hoping….
The bags are really nice and I would love to have one to carry stuff in, like on a Shop Hop to hold all the fun stuff, or when I go to a class and need to carry stuff. They are almost too pretty to carry groceries in.
I’d love to win one of these new bags to add to my collections as my older ones have just about worn out. What better way to advertise what you love!
We use reusable bags for shopping, but none of them are as pretty as these. Thanks for offering the generous giveaway.
What a beautiful world this would be if these bags replaced all the plastic bags!
I collect bags, lol! Would love one of these beauties. :)
Love those cute bags! A great idea for shopping.
I would just love an Amy Butler bag, and what a wonderful idea to put one in your car to use at all times, because it would save the shop owners costs plus waste to throw away.
Love seeing the new fabrics and the bags!
I have been a re-usable bag shopper when our Shop Rite store started, so many years ago that I’ve had to mend my bags from over-use and they also give you back, $.05 per cloth and 2 cents for paper and plastic for re-using. I use them in as many stores as I can. I’d love the Amy Butler one, blue is my favorite color, but I’d love any one. Thanks.
Great swag bags…
Obviously I’ve been sleeping…regardless I’ve just had one of those ah-ha moments. :D No more paper gift bags for me…From now on, I will be busting my stash and making gift/tote bags for birthdays and shower gifts.
Looking forward to hearing more about Spring Market.
The bags are beautiful. Love to win one of them
I always use my own bags. They are not only reusable they are easier on my hands. I also know they won’t rip apart when I use them.
Question: Why is the stuff you get called swag?
Those bags are so perfect for shopping. The City of Austin has banned thin plastic bags from merchants (unless you pay extra for them) so these are a necessity in my town! Thanks for the opportunity
The bags are very nice! I would love to shop with one. Thank you for the chance to have one.
Oh those tote bags look positively yummy! Market always sounds like such a blast or inspiration…..someday………! It would be just delightful if I won one of those totes! Thank you for the contest!
These are much prettier than what I use so I would love to win one.
Love them all, but the black and red is my favorite. Actually, I’d be thrilled to have any one of them! ‘Can’t wait to see the fabricsthat they are made up in my local quilt shop.
This would be so handy for Sam’s club – they are all beautiful – love Jo Morton.
You can NEVER have enought cute bags!
It would be so cool to win one of these! thanks for the chance.
I would love to win a fancy bag for my groceries. I keep a bunch of old ugly canvas ones in my car for shopping. I need to shop in style. lol
I am committed to being a “bag lady” forever if I had such a beautiful bag to be it with!
Love the swag sharing…my fave is Jane Dixon’s.
I’ve been using shopping bags for many years … for everything, not just groceries. Keep telling myself that I’ll make some real pretty ones for my daughter, daughter-in-law and even me. Maybe winning one of these will get me started. Thanks for the chance!
What a great idea to start using the bags for all commercial shopping!
I too would love to win one.
Thank You!
I’d love to win one of these bags! I do use cloth grocery bags for all my shopping, but they are dull, dull, dull. I’m pretty sure the Jo Morton bag has my name on it :) Thanks for having your giveaway and the chance to be more ‘interesting’ at the grocery store.
We can never have too many shopping bags. I’d love to win one. thanks for sharing.
I love using cloth bags because they are not only green but so much sturdier. These bags are great fun!
I always use cloth bags! I hope you enjoy all your market goodies!
I have been re-using bags and taking cloth bags to stores for years. WAY back when they thought you were just a hippie RORLOL…it is a good habit to have and I hope more develop it~
Hi! It is so thoughtful of you, wanting to share your gifts with others! Having lived in Europe 3 different times, I grew up taking our own bags or baskets to market. I would be honored to have one of these to use!
If we carried bags like these into the local store, everyone in the store would want one! Hey, maybe we could start a shopping bag business! hmmmm…….
Those bags are absolutely wonderful. I would love the Jo Morton one. Such pretty colors and a great way to carry fabric from visiting the shops in the upcoming Western Washington Shop Hop.
Hi Kay:
So generous of you to offer up some of your swag and what a great way to advertise new fabric! I could certainly use one of these on my next shop hop:)
How fun to get new bags!! You can never have enough bags, right?? Fingers crossed!
would luv to win one, hope I am not too late
