A recently shipped carton of Teapots 2 to Appliqué fell off the back of the delivery truck onto its corner. Dang, I hate it when that happens. Thanks a bunch, Brown! They denied the claim, saying that I should have packed with 2″ of cushion all the way around in addition to 2″ of cushion in between each individual item. LOL!!! I did some quick calculation, and at 5½ feet tall, the box wouldn’t even fit into my car! (But it might survive a dive off the truck).

You can show us a special tip or trick, give us a photo tour of your method, demo a product, review your favorite book, etc. etc. Any method of appliqué is great! Use anybody’s pattern, or your own, just be sure to give the pattern source. Time waits for no blog

I sent my tech guy a note giving him a heads-up that I’m proceeding with some posts so he’ll know to do a new backup whenever he’s ready to try the upgrade again. Please keep your fingers and toes crossed for me that 2.3.2 will consent to become 2.8.4!

Stuck

I’m on blogging hold right now. Cruzio called and told me I really needed to upgrade WordPress. Yes, I admit it, I was using an ancient version, but the last time I tried upgrading the blog was down for four days. But, since they called, I tried again, and once more the venture was met with less than success. Apparently the database is confused from the last attempt. The techs are workin’ on it, but in the meantime I’m treading lightly.

Change is good

First of all, let me hasten to tell you that Willie is in fine fettle. Almost 15 years old, he’s healthy and vigorous, still runs in the park with Dana, and we cherish him every day. So the following information has nothing to do with the state of the Real Quilt Puppy.

In fact, Willie has started his own dogblog! He’d be very pleased to have you share in his rich times. Visit The Most Excellent Life and Times of Willie the Quilt Puppy.

Now back to the subject of change. I’ve been feeling for some while now that it’s time to step out from behind a cute name and be myself. To that end, my design and publishing company is now called By Kay Mackenzie.
Quilt Puppy Publications will remain a publishing imprint.

Thanks to the encouragement of my friend Maria of Maria Michaels Designs, I finally figured out how to make it so that you can subscribe to this blog either with a feed reader or by email! That’s right, if you haven’t figured out the feed reader thing you can now sign up to get the posts delivered to your in-box. I put the links at the top of the right-hand sidebar.

I also added the Search widget to the left-hand sidebar, so you can search this blog by keyword.

Appliqué info central!

I spent a lot of time today adding designers to the list of links in the right-hand column. I also created a separate list of pattern companies, in case you’re more familiar with those names. There will be a lot more to come on both lists! I’ll be adding steadily, and my hopes are that this place will become a central resource for appliqué information. If I’ve missed a super appliqué designer, please let me know.

We also have an Amazon bookstore filled with books about appliqué! Check this out, in the left-hand column. I hand-picked these titles. Again, if I missed your favorite appliqué book, chime in! I’ll be working to keep the bookshop current with all of the newest titles.
